At 13:00 today, with the issuance of gas production instructions, the production valve of Nanpu No. 1 gas storage well of Jidong Oilfield Branch of petrochina Co., LTD., located in Tangshan Sea of Bohai Sea, opened, and natural gas smoothly entered the production device along the process pipeline and was transported to the Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei region, which marked the official operation of China's first offshore gas storage.
It is understood that Nanpu No. 1 gas storage is located in Jidong Oilfield Nanpu No. 2 artificial island more than 3,000 meters underground, from the oil and gas reservoir reconstruction, off-season storage, peak season, in order to meet the seasonal peak, emergency gas supply and national energy strategic reserve needs. The gas storage has a designed effective storage capacity of 1.814 billion cubic meters and a working gas capacity of 1.052 billion cubic meters. The pilot test will be carried out in 2021 and the overall construction will start in 2023.
In order to continuously improve the security of energy and resources, this year, Jidong Oilfield has built a new two-way injection and production pipeline, central control room, etc., so that Nanpu No. 1 gas storage can be officially put into operation.
The Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei region is the region with the largest demand for peak regulation and supply protection in China. Nanpu No. 1 gas storage has two LNG (liquefied natural gas) receiving stations in the south, the China-Russia, Yongtang-Qin pipeline in the north, and the planned Qinfeng line in the east, with dense natural gas transportation pipelines. It is estimated that in the 2024-2025 heating season, the gas storage will supply 350 million cubic meters of natural gas, which will warm about 3.5 million households in the Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei region.
According to the plan, Jidong Oilfield will also continue to promote the construction of new gas storage, build gas storage clusters, and further enhance the natural gas peak regulation and supply protection capacity in the Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei region.
